About us

Welcome to Suburban Swank

I’ve been an interior designer for nearly 20 years, working across commercial and residential spaces with a specialty in Kitchen & Bath Design and Airbnb & Vacation Rental Staging. Since 2018, I’ve also served as an Art Director for design shows on HGTV, DIY, and Magnolia Network. My experience even extends to historic restorations, including ongoing collaborations with Waterman House.

My design philosophy? Suburban Swank—a blend of livable elegance, sensory-rich details, and effortless functionality. I believe your space should feel as good as it looks. Rooms aren’t meant to be just looked at—they’re meant to be lived in. Whether it's your home or business, design should reflect your story—where you’ve been, where you’re headed, and the way you want to live.

Recently, I had the chance to design something just for me—my second home in the desert. For the first time in my career, I wasn’t designing around performance fabrics, child-proof corners, other people’s needs, preferences, opinions, or universal appeal. The only real constraint was budget—and getting clear on what I truly wanted. Every choice reflected my style, and every corner feels unapologetically personal. The end result? Let’s just say it turned out with a healthy dose of retro flair—our first guest told me it feels like “a glam 70s swinger pad” and that she needs “a caftan and a martini” every time she visits. Mission accomplished.

The older I get, the more clearly I know my style—and I’m impatient to put it on paper, fabric, or walls. I actually bought the domain Suburban Swank over 15 years ago but hesitated to use it, unsure if it sounded “official” enough for a design firm. But some ideas are just meant to simmer—and now it’s time.

My personal style might not be for everyone—and that’s okay. But if it speaks to you… welcome home.

Grab a martini and take a look around—I think you’re going to love it here. There’s plenty more coming, but with only about 80 work hours in a week, this felt like the perfect place to start.
